Please come and bring a friend, this Wednesday, May 23 6-8PM to SOU (Student Union-Rogue River Room), when our local AI-Southern Oregon Chapter co-hosts:

Former Iranian Prisoner of Conscience, Reza Mohajerinejad, Speaking on the Swelling Call in Iran for Human Rights – how we can help without waging war

  • AI and SOU UN Club host Reza Mohajerinejad, speaking as an escaped Iranian student activist about the Iranian peoples’ struggles for human rights.  We will have materials available to help you take action, if you wish, at the event.  Reza helped organize the 1999 student uprisings in Iran, was imprisoned, eventually came to the US, and founded the International Alliance of Iranian Students. He recently wrote LiveGeneration, a book about these struggles.  On February 13, 2012, Reza skyped with our community and people wanted to hear more, so this time he is coming “in-person.”  Contact Davefor more information.
  • Dr. James Phillips, SOU Professor of Anthropology, will follow-up Reza’s talk to help put it in context of international human rights efforts
  • Spread the word!
