Standing Up for Baha’i in Iran – Right to Education

On MLK Day we hosted a screening of Education Under Fire, gallery walk and panel discussion focusing on the right of Baha’i in Iran to an education.  The 100+ audience posted dozens of letters, petition signatures, supported Southern Oregon University’s call to accredit Baha’i Institute of Higher Education (BIHE) gradutes and participated in the BIHE Facebook online protest “If Education Is a Crime, I’m Guilty as Charged.”

Word has quickly spread (we helped pass a City of Ashland Proclamation for Universal Education) and we are packaging our event for Oregon State University and Portland State University.  Follow-up events are planned for Southern Oregon University to support the student protests in Iran calling for protection of their Universal Human Rights.  — To learn more, email us or contact Education Under Fire.
