On January 17, 2012, the City of Ashland passed our proposed Proclamation for Education. We proposed this in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and our recent work with Education Under Fire to end Iran’s persecution of Baha’i. The Proclamation calls on all of us to work to protect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 26 (Right to Education).

Amnesty and Peace House both had proclamations read at the January 17th City Council Meeting. Peace House, who is celebrating its 30th year anniversary this year, had January 26th declared Peace House Appreciation Day by the City of Ashland.
